Recently, the fuel cell yacht Lihu, which uses the hydrogen fuel cell stack of Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has been commissioned at sea for more than half a month, and its indexes have met the design requirements. Through the trial voyage, it marks a key step for the practical application of fuel cells in ship power in China. The yacht was built by Dalian Maritime University, using 70kW hydrogen fuel cell stack developed by Dalian Institute of Chemical Industry.
In recent years, Dalian Institute of Chemical Technology has made progress in the transformation and application of hydrogen fuel cell technology. The new generation of hydrogen fuel cell technology developed has been industrialized, and a production line of 10,000 sets of metal plate stack products with independent intellectual property rights has been built. The products have been used in many hydrogen fuel cell vehicle models. This trial flight is also the first time that the hydrogen fuel cell technology of Dalian Institute of Chemical Technology has been applied to fuel cell ships, which verifies the practicability of fuel cell as ship power.
In the future, Dalian Institute of Chemical Technology will actively promote the wide application of hydrogen fuel cell technology in the field of green shipping.
